虽然有点儿短，但是Sirk标志性的细腻真实的心理描绘和精彩的调度把这个故事拍得丰满好看，剧作上人物关系的照应也很下功夫。结尾感觉有不同的解读方式。芭芭拉和麦克默瑞的再次合作，两人表现都非常出色。

看的第一部Sirk的黑白片不是很喜欢Stanwyck 但容华已逝的她在此片中表现非常到位虽是再简单不过的中年危机伦理题材但处理手法很大家风范前段缠绵悱恻收尾克制干净

四星半，前2/3略微肥皂，后1/3则黯然泪下。男人在婚后发现自己苦心经营的家是座坟墓，那么在20年前他就应该做好选择。20年后的女人在对待爱时变得成熟了，而男人却变得幼稚了。离开他才是爱他，他们没有明天只有昨天。结尾的大雨同样是象征洗清道德上的负罪。
